Rumours flying around........

25million man David Luiz

Looks like Chelsea target David Luiz will not be joining Carlo Ancelloti at Stamford Bridge as they are unwilling to meet the 25million euros price tag set by Benfica. Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Niko Kranjcar is attracting interest from a German side Werder Bremen. Kranjcar is unable to breakthrough in the starting line-up and is said to be considering his options. Elsewhere, Barcelona are closely following Ajax defender Gregory Van Der Wiel. Back to premier league, Liverpool have been given a deadline in order to make an acceptable bid for Ajax striker Luis Suarez.

Hot Prospect Alexis Sanchez
Chelsea and Manchester United are trailing Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez. Chelsea have been keeping an eye on this player for a long time while Manchester United have just joined the race for his signature. Fiorentina have completed the signing of striker Valon Behrami from West Ham United for an undisclosed fee.

Transfer season heats up......

4.5milliom pounder Cahrlie Adam

In the latest news, Liverpool have joined Aston Villa in the race to sign Blackpool's skipper Charlie Adam. With a reported 4.5million bid rejected both teams will have to offer the Tangerines a higher amount of money. Meanwhile Arsenal have put up a price tag on their young striker Niklas Bendtner. Elsewhere, Aston Villa are hoping to bring in Peter Crouch to partner their latest signing Darren Bent.

The Magpies are looking at Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland as a replacement for Adam Smith who is on their long-term injury list. Arsene Wenger is maintaining his stance on January arrivals. “I am open-minded on it and if the right opportunity turns up we will take it,” he said. “It is not just because you want to buy that you find exactly what you need. Trust us, if the opportunity is there, we will take it; if it's not, we will play with the players we have, and I will not use that as an excuse if we don't win trophies.”+

Finally, Dynamo Zagreb defender Sime Vrsaljka, 19, is apparently catching the eye of high-profile clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Manchester United. Although Arsenal were also looking at the young talent but gradually lost interest in him.

Rounding off this day as Chelsea saw their improved 26million euros bid for defender David Luiz got rejected by Benfica.

Transfer season continues........

Looks like Aston Villa have paid more than the price first reported. Darren Bent's transfer fee has risen by 6million to 24million pounds. Meanwhile, Tottenham have confirmed the signing of the South African international Steven Pienaar from Everton for a fee known to be in the region of 3million pounds.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have defensive crisis and could really use a lift by signing a defender. Early rumours are linking experienced Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba to the Emirates Stadium although nothing formal at the moment. Liverpool are on the verge of signing Luis Suarez. It is believed that the Argentine international will help release some pressure off the misfiring Spaniard Fernando Torres.

In other transfer stories making the front pages of the English newspapers, Everton are keeping tabs on Anderlecht's winger Jonathan Legear, Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa is close to signing a new deal and put an end to his speculation that he may leave Chelsea. Croatian midfielder Luca Modric insists that he will remain at White Hart Lane.

BPL Transfer news

Steve Bruce has confirmed that Sunderland striker, Darren Bent is ready to join Aston Villa for a hefty price of 18million pounds. This figure has been considered very pricey by many experts although experts have also agreed that Bent is the man for Aston Villa as they lack firepower in the attacking zone.

Another breaking news is that the race has heated up between Chelsea and Tottenham for the signature of Everton playmaker Steven Pienaar. Moyes confirmed that both bids from Tottenham and Chelsea have been accepted. It is believed that the teams have bid around 3million for the midfielder. It is likely that Pienaar will choose Tottenham over Chelsea as he has not reached an agreement on personal terms with the Blues.

Elsewhere, West Ham's Valron Behrami could be on his way to Fiorentina for a fee around the region of 4.5million pounds. Everyone will accept that relegation-threatened West Ham can use some money to manoeuvre in the transfer market. Chelsea are also believed to be looking at the 25million rated Udinese player Alexis Sanchez.
Birmingham City have finally stopped chasing Tottenham striker Robbie Keane. Rumours are flying that Liverpool have made an official bid to Ajax for the Argentine international Luis Suarez.
